Yas and EBRD Announce Landmark €270 Million Financing Agreement

Yas and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have announced a landmark €270 million financing agreement to support the growth of digital infrastructure and improve access to reliable connectivity across Africa. The investment will initially focus on Senegal and Kenya, helping more people and businesses benefit from better digital services.

The funding will help Yas expand and modernise its mobile networks, including 4G and 5G services, strengthen fibre infrastructure, and improve digital access in key markets. In Senegal, the investment will support network expansion and upgrades, while in Kenya it will help grow and improve fibre connectivity.

This partnership represents an important step in closing Africa’s digital gap by making internet services more available, reliable, and affordable. Better connectivity can help businesses grow, create new opportunities, support online services, and improve access to financial solutions for communities.

The agreement also supports sustainable economic growth by encouraging investment in digital infrastructure and promoting greater inclusion in the digital economy. Yas is committed to expanding access to technology while supporting skills development and increasing opportunities for women’s participation in the digital sector.

Through this partnership, Yas and EBRD aim to strengthen Africa’s digital future by building stronger networks, supporting innovation, and helping communities benefit from the opportunities created by modern technology.
