Old Mutual Brings Financial Wellness Drive Across the Coastal Region

Old Mutual has taken its financial wellness drive across the coastal region, with this week’s activities taking place in Mombasa. The initiative is part of a nationwide campaign to help Kenyans learn how to better manage their money and build a more secure financial future.

The programme comes after successful events in Thika and Nakuru. It is designed to support individuals, families, entrepreneurs and small businesses by providing practical financial education, expert advice and financial solutions.

During the week, participants will attend financial literacy sessions where they will learn about budgeting, saving, investing and protecting their finances. They will also have the opportunity to speak with financial experts and receive guidance based on their personal or business needs.

Old Mutual’s activities in Mombasa include visits to local markets and businesses, customer engagement sessions and meetings with key stakeholders. The company will also host a customer forum titled “Built to Last: A Conversation on Enduring Prosperity,” bringing together customers, business leaders and financial experts to discuss ways of creating long-term wealth and achieving financial stability.

As part of the week’s events, Old Mutual also participated in the Bancassurance Association of Kenya (BAK) Conference. During the conference, the company’s Managing Director of the Digital Business Unit, Dr. Isaac Nzyoka, introduced Thrive Connect, a digital platform designed to improve access to financial services and help more people take control of their finances.

The campaign is guided by findings from the Old Mutual Financial Wellness Monitor, which shows that many Kenyans remain hopeful about their financial future despite challenges such as the high cost of living, increasing debt and unstable incomes. Through the financial wellness drive across the coastal region, Old Mutual aims to turn these insights into practical support by offering financial education and personalized guidance.

After Mombasa, Old Mutual will continue its nationwide campaign to promote financial inclusion, build resilience and help more Kenyans achieve long-term financial wellness.
