The Communications Authority of Kenya announced plans to establish a central repository of recycled mobile numbers. The database will enable banks, fintech firms and other service providers to verify number ownership after a handset changes hands, reducing the risk of messages being sent to unintended recipients and improving overall communication accuracy.
