Kenya Pipeline Company PLC (KPC PLC) has partnered with the Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) to sponsor the Environment Category at the landmark 10th Annual BAKE Awards, reinforcing the growing role of content creators in promoting sustainable living and environmental responsibility.
The partnership reflects the increasing intersection between business, sustainability, and the creator economy, where brands are collaborating with digital influencers and storytellers to inspire positive social impact while supporting Kenya’s rapidly expanding digital content industry.
This year’s BAKE Awards are themed “The Creator Economy: Turning Content into Capital,” highlighting how creators are transforming their passion into sustainable careers while influencing conversations that matter.
Through the Environment Category sponsorship, KPC PLC seeks to recognize creators who use blogs, videos, podcasts, photography, and social media to educate audiences on conservation, climate action, biodiversity, and responsible management of natural resources.
Speaking during the partnership announcement, KPC PLC Acting Managing Director Pius Mwendwa emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability.
“Environmental sustainability is central to KPC PLC’s purpose and long-term vision. We are proud to support creators who are leveraging digital platforms to champion conservation, climate action, and sustainable development, helping to build a greener future for generations to come.”
For businesses, partnerships such as this illustrate how environmental responsibility is becoming an integral part of corporate strategy. Rather than limiting sustainability to operational initiatives, companies are increasingly investing in awareness campaigns and creator-led storytelling that reaches diverse audiences across digital platforms.
KPC PLC has also demonstrated its commitment through tangible conservation efforts. Over the last five years, the company has worked alongside local communities to plant more than 1.21 million mangrove trees across 100 hectares at Jomvu Creek in partnership with the Bidii Creek Conservation Group and other community forest associations. The initiative contributes to ecosystem restoration while supporting local livelihoods and climate resilience.
As Kenya’s creator economy continues to expand, environmental content is gaining popularity among audiences seeking practical information on sustainable living, eco-friendly lifestyles, climate awareness, and community conservation initiatives. The BAKE Awards provide an important platform for recognizing these creators and encouraging more impactful storytelling.
The partnership between KPC PLC and BAKE demonstrates how businesses can support creators whose work contributes not only to online engagement but also to meaningful social and environmental change.
Voting for the 2026 BAKE Awards remains open until 25 June 2026, with the winners scheduled to be unveiled during the 10th Annual BAKE Awards Gala on 27 June 2026.
The public is encouraged to participate by casting their votes for the Environment Category and other award categories through the official BAKE Awards voting platform.
