Kenya Airways Links Travel Rewards with Luxury Shopping in Art of Luxury Deal

For travellers who enjoy shopping as part of a business trip or holiday, the experience often extends well beyond the flight. Kenya Airways is looking to tap into that connection through a new partnership with Art of Luxury, a premium retail destination bringing together international luxury brands.

The agreement brings travel, shopping and customer loyalty into a shared offering, with a bulk purchase of five million Asante Rewards points and joint marketing initiatives across selected Kenya Airways channels.

For the airline, it is another step towards building a relationship with customers that extends beyond booking tickets and boarding flights. For Art of Luxury, it creates an opportunity to reach travellers who value quality, craftsmanship and exclusive shopping experiences.

Under the partnership, Kenya Airways will promote Art of Luxury through airport advertising, its in-flight magazine, digital content, email communications and video. The two companies will also explore exclusive luxury experiences for the airline’s premium customers.

“Our customers travel for business and for leisure, and many of them shop and spend with the same care they bring to choosing an airline,” said Habil Waswani, Acting Group Managing Director and CEO of Kenya Airways.

“This partnership will bring together marketing, customer rewards and premium experiences, reinforcing Kenya Airways’ ambition to be a premium lifestyle and travel brand beyond aviation.”

Asante Rewards, the airline’s loyalty programme, sits at the centre of the agreement. The five-million-point purchase gives the collaboration a rewards component alongside its advertising and customer engagement activities.

However, the announcement does not specify how the points will be distributed, which purchases or activities will qualify, or when customers will be able to access particular offers. Those details will determine how travellers can benefit from the partnership in practice.

For Art of Luxury, the appeal lies in connecting its retail offering with an audience already travelling for business and leisure. Kenya Airways’ communication channels will give the retailer opportunities to introduce its brands to customers at different stages of their journey.

Mahesh Shahani, CEO of Art of Luxury, said the partnership would connect luxury shopping with travel rewards and curated customer experiences.

“By working together, we look forward to introducing Art of Luxury to a wider audience and exploring new ways to engage customers who value quality, craftsmanship and exclusivity,” he said.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen visibility for both brands, support the growth of Asante Rewards and provide a foundation for future joint campaigns.

Its longer-term appeal will depend on what follows: shopping offers that customers find useful, clear ways to access rewards and experiences that make the relationship worthwhile. For now, the agreement sets the stage for Kenya Airways and Art of Luxury to bring more of the travel and shopping experience together.
