i3 Announces Four New Deals at Access to Markets Event

The fourth edition of the Access to Markets gathering took place in Kigali, Rwanda, on the twenty ninth of September, bringing together innovators and partners from across the continent. During this event, four new strategic partnerships were announced, each aimed at expanding chronic disease care, improving medicine access, and strengthening pharmacy regulation through digital solutions.

One of the agreements signed at the Access to Markets event involves Dawa Mkononi and NMB Bank, which will provide interest free credit to pharmacies and health facilities throughout Tanzania. The partnership uses Dawa Mkononi's proprietary credit scoring engine, which has already distributed more than six million dollars to frontline facilities while maintaining a low default rate.

During the Access to Markets event, Meditect secured debt financing from Boehringer Ingelheim to expand affordable authentic medicines across Sub Saharan Africa. Sproxil and the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria signed a collaboration to improve regulation through digital and artificial intelligence tools. These partnerships show the growing capacity of African healthtech startups to attract investment and to deliver solutions that reach millions of patients across the continent.
