EABL Profit Jumps 49% On Strong Revenue Growth In Full Year 2026 as East African Breweries PLC (EABL) announced strong financial results for the year ending 30 June 2026. The company recorded higher sales and profits despite consumers facing economic challenges across East Africa.
EABL said the business benefited from a stable economic environment in the region, with steady currencies, controlled inflation for most of the year, and favorable interest rates. Although the cost of food and energy increased towards the end of the financial year, the company still maintained strong performance.
The brewer continued to grow by expanding its product portfolio, strengthening its presence in the market, and improving operational efficiency. It also called for stronger cooperation between governments, regulators, and industry players to fight the growing problem of illicit alcohol, which continues to affect consumers and legitimate businesses.
During the year, EABL’s revenue increased by 13%, driven by strong demand for both beer and spirits. Profit after tax rose by 49% to KSh 18.2 billion, helped by increased sales, better cost management, and lower financing costs after reducing debt. Net revenue reached KSh 146 billion, making it one of the company’s strongest financial performances in recent years.
EABL also rewarded its shareholders with improved returns. The company’s share price rose by 43% to KSh 269 by 30 June 2026. The Board recommended a final dividend of KSh 8.70 per share, bringing the total dividend for the year to KSh 12.70 per share, a 59% increase compared to the previous financial year.
Looking ahead, EABL remains optimistic about future growth despite continued pressure on consumer spending and government fiscal challenges. The company believes its strong brands, diverse product range, and experienced workforce will help it continue creating value for shareholders while contributing to the economic development of East Africa.
EABL is one of East Africa’s leading beverage companies, with well-known brands including Tusker, Guinness, Bell Lager, Serengeti, Kenya Cane, Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, and Chrome. Its products are sold in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and more than 10 other countries across Africa and beyond.
